FFDO INITIAL TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES
 
   For those who might know of someone interested in becoming an FFDO:
 
 
 
 

Dear FFDO Candidate,

 

Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Federal Flight Deck Officer (FFDO) program. The Federal Air Marshal Service is pleased to announce a limited number of opportunities to apply for FFDO training this fiscal year. We are currently accepting applications for the below training dates. Please submit your application no later than Monday, April 15, 2013.

A304 06/03/2013 – 06/08/2013

A305 06/10/2013 – 06/15/2013

A306 06/17/2013 – 06/22/2013

A307 06/24/2013 – 06/29/2013

 

Information pertaining to the FFDO program, including eligibility criteria, can be found on the TSA.gov website at:

Selected applicants will be required to successfully complete all assessment requirements to include a positively adjudicated Background Investigation.

Download the Volunteer Questionnaire (VQ) here:

This file is password protected. To receive the password, send an email to applicant@ipapilot.org - You will receive an auto-reply with the password.

Please save the VQ to your computer. You will need to complete each line of information, save the information, attach the spreadsheet to an email and return it to the following email address: ffdoapplicant@dhs.gov

 

In the body of the email please select at least three training dates, in order of preference, from the Available Training Dates captioned above that you are interested in attending.

 

The spreadsheet should be relatively straightforward to complete. Type the relevant information into the cell adjacent to the requested heading. If the cell contains a “drop down menu” please select your input from those choices. Please format dates/phone numbers/etc. as shown in each applicable cell. If a specific request for information in a particular cell does not apply to you, please leave it empty. The spreadsheet must be returned in its original format and will require MS Excel to complete. Incomplete and/or altered documents will not be processed.

After you return the completed VQ, the data will be reviewed for compliance with required criteria. Selected applicants will then be contacted and forwarded final instructions on how to complete the vetting process.
